REBEL breakout cables: INF4203 and INF4204.1 multi-connect pinouts
Find out which REBEL breakout cable you have and wire each of its leads. The leads carry CAN, power, LIN, the analogue and digital channels and the auxiliary power output for instrumentation modules.
Which cable you need
Both cables plug into the logger's 25-way OBD and INST connector. They break it out to standard 9-way D-Subs wired to CiA 303-1, so CAN devices and interfaces plug straight in.
| Part | Name | Supplied with | Leads |
|---|---|---|---|
INF4203 |
Two CAN breakout cable | REBEL LT | CAN0/PWR/K-Line and AUX/CAN1 |
INF4204.1 |
Multi-connect cable, 5 lead | REBEL CT | CAN0/PWR, AUX/CAN1, CAN2/LIN0, CAN3/LIN1 and Dig/An |
To use the analogue and digital channels on REBEL LT, you also need the INF4204.1. Only its Dig/An lead carries them. On REBEL LT the CAN2/LIN0 and CAN3/LIN1 leads carry no bus, because the logger has no CAN 2, CAN 3 or LIN.

Power a K-Series module from AUX/CAN1
A REBEL logger can switch power to one instrumentation module on its AUX/CAN1 lead, so the module sleeps and wakes with the logger.
- Connect the module. Plug the module's CAN input into the AUX/CAN1 lead.
- Open the configuration properties. In DIALOG, right-click the project and select Properties.
-
Enable auxiliary power. In the Edit Configuration window, select the Settings tab. Tick Aux Power On, then select OK.

The Settings tab also holds the Keep Alive times. - Send the configuration. Right-click the project and select Send Configuration to the Logger.
The auxiliary power output follows the logger's own supply. Before you connect a module, check that your supply is inside its range. K-TC takes 4.5 to 31 V. K-BOX and K-AN8 take 6 to 36 V. Every further module in a daisy chain needs an external supply. See K-Series: connecting and powering modules.
INF4213 screw terminal
INF4213 is a 15-way D-Sub plug with screw terminals. It fits the Dig/An lead of the INF4204.1, so you can wire sensors and switches without soldering a connector. It is male with 15 pins, weighs 45 g and works from -20 to +80 °C.
INF4302 digital switch
INF4302 is a push switch on a cable. Use it to mark events in a log by hand. It plugs into the Dig/An lead of the INF4204.1 and pulls Digital I/O 0 to ground while you press it. The switch resets itself when you release it.
| Pin | Wire |
|---|---|
| 4 | Cable shields |
| 9 | Switch S1, light blue wire (Digital I/O 0 on the Dig/An lead) |
| 11 | Switch S1, black wire (ground on the Dig/An lead) |
The cable is 1800 mm long with 26 AWG (0.4 mm) wire. It weighs 116 g and works from -20 to +80 °C. To record the marks, set Digital I/O 0 as an input in the configuration.
