Winter durabilityCold climate temperature mapping
Dozens of thermocouples across powertrain, cabin and ambient zones, logging standalone. IP65 with thermocouples fitted.
K-TC is a thermocouple data logger that turns up to 32 channels into accurate, cold junction compensated measurement. Log it standalone to internal memory for months, transmit it on CAN to any logger, or do both at once.
How it works
Thermocouples in, three routes out. The first two run at the same time.
K-Log records every channel to the internal 8 GB eMMC. Months of data, no PC and no logger on the vehicle.
Broadcasts on the bus with a supplied DBC file, time synchronised, decoded by REBEL, REXGEN or any third party logger.
K-CAL's built in oscilloscope shows every channel live at the desk, then exports the data.
Records months of data to its own 8 GB eMMC through the free K-Log software and streams the same measurements on CAN simultaneously. No logger needed to be useful.
Types K, J and T with cold junction compensation. Minus 200 to plus 1200 degrees at 20 Hz per channel, in 8, 16 or 32 channels.
Transmits standard CAN with a supplied DBC file, so any logger decodes it, REBEL, REXGEN or third party. Pair with REXGEN Air to collect remotely on an AWS S3 bucket.
±1°C accuracy and 0.001°C resolution, calibratable and certifiable on demand through K-CAL.
Galvanic isolation across USB, CAN, power and thermocouple boards, rated to 840 V on USB and 780 V on CAN. IP65 with thermocouples fitted.
Set channels and sampling for up to five modules at once, watch the built in oscilloscope, export a DBC. Settings stored in the module even when unpowered.

Under the skin
Cold junction compensation, isolation between every board and settings that survive a power cycle. Measurement you can certify.
Galvanic isolation separates the USB, CAN, power and thermocouple boards, so ground loops on the rig never reach the measurement. On the bench or on the vehicle, the numbers are the numbers.

8, 16 or 32 channels of type K, J or T, cold junction compensated at the connector.
Transmits periodically on CAN at up to 1 Mbps, time synchronised with the vehicle network data.
K-CAL sets channels and sampling, and reads the built in oscilloscope.
Stackable and daisy chainable with the rest of the K-Series range.
A cost-effective way of adding thermocouples to the CAN bus.
We use the K-TC16 to provide a cost-effective way of adding thermocouples to the CAN bus for temperature measurement and feedback control. The Influx Technology software makes setup straightforward: setting the CAN address, sampling rates and generating a *.dbc file.
Applications
Temperature mapping, powertrain heat and standalone endurance runs.
Winter durabilityDozens of thermocouples across powertrain, cabin and ambient zones, logging standalone. IP65 with thermocouples fitted.
PowertrainType K on EGT and turbo paths at up to 1200 degrees, on CAN alongside the vehicle network.
EnduranceMonths of temperature data to the internal eMMC on unattended runs, waking from deep sleep on CAN activity. No logger on the vehicle.
Whether you need a single CAN bus data logger for bench testing or a fleet-scale deployment with cloud connectivity, our engineering team can help you find the right approach.

Frequently asked questions
Yes. It records to its internal 8 GB eMMC, enough for months of standalone data. CAN transmission runs at the same time, so you can do both at once.
8, 16 or 32 per unit. K-TC is stackable and daisy-chainable, so more modules add more channels on the same bus.
Types K, J and T. The range spans –200 °C to +1200 °C, with cold junction compensation as standard.
Yes. Professional calibration and certification are available on demand through K-CAL.
Yes. K-TC transmits standard CAN and ships with a DBC file, so any logger or tool decodes it, REBEL, REXGEN or third party.
Yes. Pair K-TC with REXGEN Air and the recordings are collected remotely to an AWS S3 bucket.
No. K-TC ships ready to log but thermocouples are sold separately. It accepts standard miniature type K, J and T connectors, so existing probes work.
Yes. A bench kit pairing the K-TC with a Kvaser Leaf interface and T-CANnector powers and configures the module at the desk before it goes near a vehicle. Ask us or see the K-TC8 and K-TC16 Kvaser kits.
