Battery testVoltage, current and temperature
Pack voltage and current on the high speed analogue inputs, with cell temperatures on thermocouples, all on one CAN timeline.
K-BOX · Multi-DAQ module
K-BOX is the multi-DAQ data acquisition module for the K-Series. Measure thermocouples, software switchable voltage, current and PWM together, then put it all on CAN for any logger, time synchronised with the network data.
Thermocouples, software switchable voltage from ±80 V to ±10 V, current via a clamp or shunt, and PWM, all measured together and transmitted on CAN.
Eight bipolar differential analogue inputs at variable rates: all 8 at 1 kHz, 4 at 2 kHz or 2 at 10 kHz. Trade channels for speed when a transient needs it.
Transmits standard CAN with a supplied DBC file, so any logger decodes it, REBEL, REXGEN or third party. Time synchronised with the vehicle network data.
Up to 8 type K, J or T inputs with cold junction compensation. ±1°C accurate, minus 200 to plus 1250 degrees.
Regulated 5 V and 24 V outputs supply external sensors, up to 80 mA combined. Fewer boxes on the rig.
Set ranges, rates and CAN IDs over the bus, watch the built in oscilloscope, export a DBC. Settings stored in the module even when unpowered.

Under the skin
Sixteen bit conversion, isolation between every board and settings that survive a power cycle. Measurement you can put in the report.
Galvanic isolation separates the enclosure, power, CAN and the analogue and thermocouple boards, with over voltage protection to ±150 V on the analogue channels. Ground loops and rig faults stay out of the measurement.

Over voltage protection
Up to 8 type K, J or T inputs, cold junction compensated, miniature connectors.
25 way D-Sub to the 8 differential inputs, with the supplied screw terminal system.
4 digital channels as inputs or outputs, 3 usable as frequency, counter or pulse inputs to 100 kHz.
Daisy chain in and out connectors link power and CAN through a stack of K-Series modules.
CCP, CAN and sensor data, from one robust and cost-effective system.
We have used several suits of REBEL LT with K-BOX together for several years to obtain CCP, CAN messages and sensor data including pressure and temperature measurements. The whole system is very robust and stable for getting what we need by such a cost-effective system. Now we could hardly take the system off the vehicle as we could not do the vehicle test without it.

Frequently asked questions
No. K-BOX is an instrumentation module: it measures and transmits on CAN. Pair it with any CAN logger, REBEL, REXGEN or third party, or use the K-TC if you want standalone temperature logging.
Over the CAN bus in K-CAL, using an Influx logger or a CAN to USB interface such as a Kvaser Leaf, available on request.
Types K, J and T, cold junction compensated, from –200 °C to +1250 °C.
Yes, on the analogue inputs via a current clamp or shunt, within the ±80 V to ±10 V switchable ranges.
Yes. Regulated 5 V and 24 V outputs supply up to 80 mA combined for external sensors.
Yes. K-BOX transmits standard CAN and ships with a DBC file, so any logger or analysis tool decodes it.
