REBEL LT · Out-of-the-box R&D logger

Professional grade logging, straight out of the box.

REBEL LT is a CAN bus data logger that records two CAN buses, K-Line and four analogue channels, runs UDS, XCP and OBD diagnostics on the same device and analyses it all in DIALOG. The most cost effective way onto a development vehicle.

How it works

Configure, fit, analyse

One free tool to set it up, a logger that runs itself, and analysis when you get back.

01

Configure in DIALOG Configurator

Free with every logger. Set channels, triggers and exports, then load the configuration over USB.

02

Fit it and leave it

Powers down when both CAN buses go idle and wakes on the next message. USB isolation protects the logger and your laptop.

03

Analyse in DIALOG Standard

The live viewer, graphical analysis and the post analysis oscilloscope, with export to MDF4, BLF and MAT.

Recording and diagnostics run on the same device, so the fault and the request that found it share one clock.

A development tool, not just a logger

Every source on one timebase

Two CAN buses, K-Line, four analogue and three digital channels, every one stamped to the same clock. A CAN request, a K-Line response and a sensor reading line up when you open the file.

CAN 0 CAN 1 K-Line Analogue Digital DM1 One timebase, every source

Diagnostics that go deeper

UDS to ISO 14229 and ISO 15765, XCP on CAN, CCP, OBD and J1939. Module Analyser builds an ODX framework from any UDS compliant module and REBEL LT logs signals that are never broadcast on the bus.

Broadcast traffic REBEL LT UDS module UDS 0x22 · read data by identifier request out, response logged Never broadcast, now in the file boost_pressure · UDS 0x22 injector_trim · 0x2C fast DAQ rail_temperature · A2L / XCP ODX framework, built in minutes

Runs unattended

Powers down once both CAN buses go quiet, wakes on the next message with a user set delay, and protects the vehicle battery through long soak tests.

Isolated to protect your equipment

USB galvanic isolation protects the logger and the laptop connected to it when the vehicle is not a friendly place to plug in.

A gateway whilst it logs

Moves signals from one CAN bus to the other while recording, so one box does the bridging and the logging.

Configured and analysed in DIALOG

DIALOG Configurator ships free and sets the logger up. DIALOG Standard adds the live viewer, graphical analysis and the post analysis oscilloscope.

Full specifications, including inputs, storage, isolation and power, in the spec sheet below.

Under the skin

Small box, serious specification

Galvanic isolation, intelligent power and diagnostics down to individual UDS services, in a stackable enclosure.

See the fault, then recreate it

DIALOG's post analysis oscilloscope replays the recording with millisecond resolution, so you can pinpoint exactly when a warning fired and what every signal was doing around it. Intelligent event triggers capture only what matters.

  • UDS services 0x1, 0x19, 0x21, 0x22, 0x23, 0x1A and 0x2C, with fast DAQ where the module supports it
  • A2L integration and ODX framework generation through Module Analyser
  • Power down on idle buses, WakeOnCAN, user set sleep delay
  • Stackable ABS enclosure, stacks with K-TC, K-BOX and K-AN8

Frequently asked questions

Common questions

What is in the box?

The logger, DIALOG Configurator, Module Analyser Lite, a USB cable, the two CAN breakout cable, a preformatted 32 GB SDHC card and 12 months of SLA cover. It logs out of the box.

Do I need to buy software?

No, to log: DIALOG Configurator ships free and handles setup and CSV or MDF4 export. DIALOG Standard is the paid step for live data, graphical analysis and GPS maps.

How do I use the analogue and digital channels?

Through the multi connect cable, which breaks the 25 way connector out to the analogue and digital ports. It is not in the standard package, so add it if you need those channels.

Can it run unattended?

Yes. It powers down when both CAN buses go idle, with a delay you set, and wakes on the next CAN message. Fit it and collect the card later.

Which diagnostic protocols does it speak?

OBD, UDS to ISO 14229 and ISO 15765, CCP, XCP on CAN and SAE J1939, with UDS services from mode 0x1 through 0x2C.

When do I need the REBEL CT instead?

When the programme needs CAN FD, LIN or an IP65 metal enclosure. The REBEL CT CAN FD logs two CAN 2.0, two CAN FD and two LIN buses on one timeline.
