Module Analyser: user guide, help file and videos
Learn what Module Analyser does and connect it to a REXGEN, a REBEL or another CAN interface. Then find the right chapter of its help file for diagnostics, bus monitoring and module programming.
Module Analyser and Module Analyser Lite
Module Analyser is Influx Technology's PC software for vehicle diagnostics and CAN and LIN bus analysis. REBEL LT and REBEL CT ship with Module Analyser Lite for UDS and ODX. Module Analyser builds an ODX framework from any UDS-compliant module, so a REBEL can log signals that are never broadcast on the bus. The rest of this guide describes the full product, as its help file documents it.
What it does
- CAN and LIN bus monitoring, decoding signals with DBC and LDF files.
- Diagnostic scanning: OBD-II and EOBD emissions diagnostics, and extended diagnostics over UDS (ISO 14229 on ISO 15765).
- J1939 and J2534 pass-thru support.
- Module description files in ODX, MDX, GDX, A2L and XML, with an integrated ODX and MDX editor.
- Graphical analysis of live or recorded data: a multi-trace oscilloscope, dials, LED displays and bar plots, with data import and export.
- A message constructor for sending your own messages, with a library of ready-made messages for common tasks.
- A trace viewer that monitors, filters and records several message streams at once.
- Signal monitoring, with messages specified automatically or by hand.
- Central configuration management of module databases and settings.
- Module reprogramming: VID block retrieval and module flashing.
- Data recording and logging.
Supported interfaces
Module Analyser connects to the vehicle through REXGEN and REBEL loggers and through Kvaser Leaf and PEAK FD interfaces. A REXGEN 1, REXGEN 2 or REXGEN 2 IMU GNSS can also act as a J2534 pass-thru device. See REXGEN: use the logger as a J2534 pass-thru interface.

| 2 Getting started | Installing the software and a tour of the window. |
| 3 Quick start guide | Selecting the interface device and module settings, then common tasks: reading DTCs, monitoring CAN and LIN data, displaying powertrain data, running an OBD report and importing a description file. |
| 4 Emissions-related on-board diagnostics | Live powertrain data (mode 01), freeze frames (mode 02), emissions DTCs (modes 03, 04, 07 and 0A) and vehicle information (mode 09). |
| 5 Extended diagnostics | Reading DTCs (services 14, 18 and 19), reading data by identifier (22) and by address (23), fast data acquisition (2C, 2A and 22), writing data by identifier (2E) and routine control (31). |
| 6 Data visualisation | The oscilloscope, calculated channels, statistics and histograms, dials, LED displays and bar plots. |
| 7 Data monitoring | Signals, the trace viewer (filtering, saving, loading and playing back traces) and messages. |
| 8 ECU programming | VID blocks, module reprogramming, unlocking and resetting an ECU. |
| 9 Reports and appendices | Reports, then the configuration, security and device managers, preferences, a glossary, the diagnostic services and the ISO-TP frame definitions. |
The DIALOG reference also explains the diagnostic services and ISO-TP frames. See DIALOG reference: glossary, OBD and UDS services, ISO-TP and PIDs.
Configure and report
The first video creates a configuration that only monitors the bus. The second generates a diagnostics report.

Licences and files: common questions
- Can I move my licence to a different PC?
- Yes. Contact technical support with your licence documentation.
- Can I use one licence on several PCs, one at a time?
- Yes, on one PC at a time. Deactivate the licence on the first PC, then use the same key on the second.
- Can I import BLF or ASC log files?
- You can import only files that Module Analyser exported.
For anything else, contact technical support.
