In their own words

The K-TC units engineered by Influx Technology produce accurate and reliable results at a very competitive price. They are easily programmed and calibrated to work seamlessly with their range of REBEL loggers and even offer the added bonus of standalone data acquisition.

Paul BatesLead Instrumentation Engineer, Lotus Cars UK

Having the same capabilities as the REBEL CT loggers means it can be used for some quite advanced functions, such as a gateway for UDS/CCP signals, re-transmitting these over a standard broadcast CAN connection to driver displays or other third-party CAN acquisition that does not support the communication protocols required.

Chris PolmearDurability & Measurement Manager, UTAC

We use the K-TC16 to provide a cost-effective way of adding thermocouples to the CAN bus for temperature measurement and feedback control. The Influx Technology software makes setup straightforward: setting the CAN address, sampling rates and generating a *.dbc file.

Paul DickinsonTechnical Specialist, CamMotive

We have been using Influx Technology devices for the last five years now. They are undoubtedly the best in the market, and the service team is beyond expectations. Influx Technology never fails to amaze us with its innovative approach towards technology.

Influx Technology helped us reduce manual efforts - REBEL LT + STREAMLOG Reports

Passenger Car Manufacturer

The REBEL LT device is very easy to use and is dependable. I have used it for the last four years, and its performance has been consistent. Flawless and sturdy.

Bosch

The REXGEN Air is a fantastic piece of equipment and really makes it so easy to get accurate data, quickly. As a company we were hesitant that a datalogger was right for us but the support that Influx Technology gave really helped us to see the value straight away.

SAM Sprayers

For our research on real driving emissions (RDE) of low-carbon fuels, we use two vehicles: an EURO 6c compliant diesel hybrid (Mercedes C300h) and an EURO 5 gasoline hybrid (Toyota Prius). We require data on various parameters like engine speed, fuel consumption, battery charge, and exhaust temperatures. Our current data loggers couldn't capture all parameters for the Mercedes via the OBD port. Influx Technology intervened, scanning the vehicle to create a custom data logger, enabling us to measure essential parameters for emissions research alongside driving and engine data.

Leeds UniversitySchool of Chemical and Process Engineering

By installing the REXGEN we were able to log simultaneously the vibrations of the ship with the internal accelerometer and the CAN bus. By connecting the datalogger to our diagnostic computer and leveraging the open REXLIBRARY of Influx Technology, we were able to make a custom diagnostic tool that automatically finds the diagnostic fault messages on the CAN bus and correlates it with the accelerometer data. Furthermore the data is exported to a time related database and visualized for easy interpretation by our engineers and the customer.

REBEL LT helped us in logging Tractor ECU data along with Additional Sensor Data with the help of K-BOX.

Tractor OEM

Influx Technology REBEL dataloggers are the CAN datalogger of choice for Club Car's Test, Validation, and Software Development teams since 2017. The dataloggers are affordable, reliable, and the DIALOG Analysis software is easy to use.

Club Car

We have used several suits of REBEL LT with K-BOX together for several years to obtain CCP, CAN messages and sensor data including pressure and temperature measurements. The whole system is very robust and stable for getting what we need by such a cost-effective system. Now we could hardly take the system off the vehicle as we could not do the vehicle test without it.

Research LaboratoryTesting Technical Manager

Everything in one package, installed in minutes, configured and logging in a few more and now all the data is accessible directly from my laptop. The REXGEN Air has really simplified what has traditionally been an 'expert' role to setup telematic data-loggers, thank you Influx Technology.

LRW Engineering Associates

We have taken logs just using the USB power and I'm quite happy that the temperature measurement is comparable to the kit we're using currently, within 1°C

Frequently asked questions

Ask an engineer

Do I need a data logger, a K-Series module or both?

Data loggers record CAN, CAN FD and LIN networks to their own storage. K-Series modules put thermocouples, voltages and digital signals on the CAN bus, so any logger records them on the same timebase as the vehicle data. K-TC also logs on its own. Each family has its own configuration software.

Which data logger should I choose?

Start with the job. REXGEN 1 records one classic CAN bus. REXGEN 2 adds CAN FD, LIN and sensor inputs, with an IMU GNSS version. REXGEN Air uploads fleet data over LTE. REBEL LT and REBEL CT run diagnostics on the logger. REXGEN Pro adds edge compute. Answer two questions and the finder recommends one.

How does CAN data logging work?

A logger sits on the vehicle network and records every frame it sees, with a timestamp, to its own storage. It runs without a PC, wakes on CAN traffic and sleeps when the bus goes quiet. Depending on the model, you collect the data over USB, from an SD card or over LTE.

CAN bus explained

Can I view data live or collect it remotely?

On the bench, REXGEN 1 and REXGEN 2 work as a J2534 pass-through interface over USB, streaming CAN to your PC tools in real time. In the field, REXGEN Air and REXGEN Pro record to eMMC first, then upload over LTE at a sync rate you set, with configuration and firmware updated over the air.

See REXGEN Air

What data can I log?

Every logger records CAN. Depending on the model, it also records CAN FD, LIN, K-Line, analogue and digital inputs, GNSS position and motion, all on one timebase. Every logger decodes SAE J1939. REBEL LT and REBEL CT also run UDS, XCP, CCP and OBD requests. Add K-Series modules for thermocouples, voltages, currents and digital signals.

Compare data loggers

How do I decode raw CAN data with a DBC file?

Every logger records raw frames. A DBC file gives them signal names, scaling and units. Load it into REXDESK for REXGEN or DIALOG for REBEL, and raw frames become named signals; REXDESK exports CSV with the decoding applied. K-CAL generates the DBC for K-Series modules. REXGEN Air can decode each upload with your DBC on arrival.

Understanding CAN DBC files

What are typical use cases?

Engineering teams use our loggers and modules for powertrain calibration and ECU validation, EV battery management and motor control, durability and road load testing, fleet telematics, black-box evidence on haul trucks and cold climate temperature mapping. They work across automotive, electric vehicles, commercial vehicles, agriculture, mining and rail.

Explore solutions

Do you offer software and APIs?

Yes. REXDESK configures REXGEN loggers and K-CAL sets up K-Series modules, both free with no licence. DIALOG configures REBEL loggers, with two free versions and two licensed ones. For your own code there is an open XML configuration API and REXLIBRARY, our open source toolkit on GitHub, for file conversion in your applications and cloud functions.

Software overview

Do I have to use your software?

No. Our hardware is open and the firmware is not locked to our software, so it fits the toolchain you already have. K-Series modules transmit standard CAN with a DBC file any tool can decode, and customers already use our hardware with Vector tools, SavvyCAN, MATLAB and Grafana.

Ask about your toolchain

Where do you ship from, and how do I buy outside the UK?

Orders ship from our Bedfordshire headquarters, normally within 5 working days, and delivery options are shown at checkout. Influx Technology products are also available through specialist distributors across Europe, Africa, Asia and North America. Orders over 5 units are quoted individually, so ask us for volume pricing.
