Inputs and outputs
Analogue and digital inputs
Function
REXGEN Air
Analogue inputs
2 bipolar single-ended inputs, ±10 V, 12-bit, up to 1 kHz, input impedance over 50 kΩ
Analogue safe applied voltage
±28 V
Digital inputs
2 unipolar single-ended inputs. Low below 0.8 V, high above 2.5 V, up to 28 V

Function
REXGEN Air
GNSS module
u-blox M8U, 30 Hz, with dead reckoning and geofencing. Some units have the u-blox M8Q, 18 Hz, which supports neither.
Amazon S3, S3-compatible storage, FTPS servers and the managed web app
Protocols
FTP, FTPS, HTTP and HTTPS. Data and over-the-air updates can travel over HTTPS (TLS 1.2).
FTPS
Encrypts the log-in. Data channel encryption (PROT P) is not supported, so files travel unencrypted.
Over the air
Configuration and firmware over the air (COTA and FOTA), signed. Configurable sync rate. Can be disabled.
Heartbeat
Status file to the server and upload state reporting. Optional CAN heartbeat frame with device information, status, storage used, RTC time and configuration details.
Snapshot
Decodes chosen CAN signals and sends them to the server periodically
Access control
Access rights across loggers and users through S3 policies (AWS upload). S3 credentials can be stored encrypted in the configuration on the logger.
Storage, software and security
Storage, software and security
Function
REXGEN Air
Storage
16 or 32 GB eMMC, soldered in and not removable
Cyclic logging
FIFO, enabled by default. Once the eMMC is full, the oldest data makes way for new data.
Data integrity
FIFO and partitioning keep the most recent data safe
File split
By size (10 to 500 MB) and by time period
Device ID
Globally unique, so every log file name is unique
Real-time clock
Battery-backed, with 10 µs timestamp resolution. Local time zone configurable (default UTC). Synchronised from the LTE network time or from a CAN message, such as the internal GNSS time.
File formats
Native RXD and RXE. Export to ASAM MDF4, CSV, MATLAB, ASC, BLF and TRC. Parquet through the cloud conversion function.
Software
REXDESK configuration software (free), API and command line interface. REXLIBRARY file conversion library, with source on GitHub. AWS Lambda example application for conversion in the cloud.
Security
Signed firmware, device locking and SHA
Firmware
Free updates that add features
Status LEDs

PC interface
Micro USB 2.0 as standard. USB through the Mini50 connector as a factory option.
The USB connection through the Mini50 connector needs a hardware change. Ask for it when you order. Otherwise, the logger must go back to Influx Technology for the change.
