DIALOG videos
Watch the main DIALOG tasks done on a REBEL logger, then follow the written guide beside each video for the full steps and settings.
These videos date from 2020 to 2022 and show an earlier version of DIALOG (formerly DiaLog). Menus and screens may differ slightly from the version you have. Where they do, follow the written guide.
DIALOG comes in four versions. Remote and Configurator are free. Standard and Plus need a licence. For what each version does, see DIALOG: what it does, versions and system requirements.
Install, licences and logger maintenance
Installs DIALOG and activates its licence. For the written steps, see DIALOG: install it and activate, deactivate or move a licence.
Watch: Installing DIALOG and activating the licence (3:59)
Deactivates a licence on one PC so you can move it to another. For the written steps, see DIALOG: install it and activate, deactivate or move a licence.
Watch: Deactivating and moving a DIALOG licence (3:15)
Sets the REBEL clock, formats its SD card and updates its firmware from DIALOG. For the written steps, see DIALOG: set the clock, format the SD card and update REBEL firmware.
Watch: Set date and time, format the SD card and reflash the firmware of a REBEL data logger (3:00)
Prepares the SD card and loads a configuration with the free DIALOG Remote utility. For the written steps, see DIALOG Remote: install it, prepare the SD card and maintain a REBEL.
Watch: How to configure the SD card or REBEL data logger using DIALOG Remote (1:56)
Projects and configurations
Creates, opens and organises DIALOG projects. For the written steps, see DIALOG: create projects and configurations and send them to a REBEL.
Watch: Managing projects in DIALOG (2:15)
Builds and manages the configurations inside a project and sends one to the logger. For the written steps, see DIALOG: create projects and configurations and send them to a REBEL.
Watch: Managing configurations in DIALOG (3:50)
Record CAN and diagnostic data
Sets up a quick OBD logging configuration on a REBEL straight out of the box. For the written steps, see DIALOG: log UDS and OBD diagnostic data.
Watch: Quick OBD configuration, out of the box (2:10)
Configures a REBEL to record every raw CAN frame on the bus. For the written steps, see DIALOG: record raw CAN frames or DBC signals with a REBEL.
Watch: Configuring a REBEL data logger to record raw CAN messages (3:02)
Loads a DBC file so the REBEL records decoded signals. The Learn article on DBC files explains the format. For the written steps, see DIALOG: record raw CAN frames or DBC signals with a REBEL.
Watch: Configuring a REBEL data logger with a DBC file (3:44)
Logs diagnostic data from an ECU over UDS. For the written steps, see DIALOG: log UDS and OBD diagnostic data.
Watch: How to log data using UDS in DIALOG (1:33)
Loads an A2L file to log ECU measurements over CCP or XCP. For the written steps, see DIALOG: log ECU data over CCP or XCP from an A2L file.
Watch: How to log data using an A2L file (2:59)
Record GNSS and inputs
Configures a REBEL fitted with GNSS to record position data. For the written steps, see DIALOG: record GNSS, analogue and digital inputs.
Watch: Configuring a REBEL data logger to record GNSS data (3:11)
Configures the REBEL analogue and digital inputs. For the written steps, see DIALOG: record GNSS, analogue and digital inputs.
Watch: How to configure analogue and digital inputs using DIALOG (1:23)
Export recordings
Exports a recording from its IVD file to another format. For the written steps, see DIALOG: view live data, copy recordings and export them.
Watch: Exporting an IVD file (3:48)
Compares the ways of exporting a CAN trace. For the written steps, see DIALOG: view live data, copy recordings and export them.
Watch: Various methods for exporting a CAN trace (3:44)
Exports recordings from the free DIALOG Configurator. For the written steps, see DIALOG: view live data, copy recordings and export them.
Watch: How to export data from DIALOG Configurator (1:02)
Interpolates or resamples signals onto a common time base as they are exported. For the written steps, see DIALOG Plus: batch processing, merging and conversion scripts.
Watch: How to interpolate or resample while exporting data (2:08)
Batch processing and conversion scripts
Batch processing and data file merging are DIALOG Plus features. For the written steps to every video in this section, see DIALOG Plus: batch processing, merging and conversion scripts.
