03 Workflow

From configuration to fleet-scale analysis

Step 01

Configure and deploy

Create a project, add CAN bus and DBC files. Configure triggers, sleep mode and analogue inputs. Send config to the REBEL via USB or SD card.

Step 02

Record and analyse

Deploy the logger. Extract the IVD file, plot signals in the graphical viewer and correlate with GPS position data.

Step 03

Export and share

Export to CSV, MDF, BLF, ASC, MAT or Excel. Use batch processing for fleet-scale conversions and data file merging.

Common questions

What is the difference between Remote and Configurator?

Remote is a maintenance utility: format SD cards, set time, reflash firmware. Configurator adds full configuration capability and data export to CSV/MDF, but no graphical analysis or live viewing.

Which version do I need for data analysis?

Standard includes the graphical viewer, GPS map, live data and XCP/CCP. For fleet batch processing and data file merging, you need Plus.

Does DIALOG support FlexRay?

FlexRay Fibex and ASAM A2L support is available in Plus only.

Can I use DIALOG with REXGEN loggers?

DIALOG is designed for REBEL loggers. REXGEN data is configured and exported using REXDESK. K-Series data recorded alongside REBEL CAN data can be decoded using DBC files from K-CAL.

Can I process large numbers of files automatically?

Yes. DIALOG Plus includes batch processing for converting, merging and exporting large volumes of recorded data files.

Are the free versions time-limited?

No. Remote and Configurator are free with no time limit, trial period or feature restrictions.

What export formats does DIALOG support?

Configurator exports to CSV, Vector MDF, BLF, ASC, ASAM MDF4 and Excel. Standard adds MATLAB MAT and NCode S3. Plus adds KML for GPS data.
